Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 01, 2026

1. Who are we

RemindMed products, such as this website and the RemiMed app, are operated by RemindMed S.L. (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of personal data processed through the app and this website. Contact: support@remindmed.es

2. What data we collect
  • Account data: email, (optional) name, password hash, and phone (only used for 2FA).

  • Health data: medication names, forms (e.g. 30 mg pill, injection), schedules, intake history, refill dates, pick‑up appointments, and notes you choose to add. Medications prescribed for substance use disorder (SUD), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone are subject to heightened confidentiality protections.

This data will not be disclosed to any third party without your explicit written consent, except where strictly required by law.

  • Technical data: device type, OS version, app version, crash/error logs, and basic usage events.

  • Website data: IP address, pages visited, basic analytics cookies (for traffic and performance).

  • Subscription and purchase data: if you subscribe or make a purchase, we receive limited transaction data from Apple, including your plan type (Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime), subscription status, billing period, and transaction identifier. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card information. All payments are processed directly by Apple's App Store.

3. Why we collect it (purposes)
  • To provide the core service: reminders, tracking, refill/appointment dates, and reports.

  • To secure your account and let you sign in safely (including optional 2FA).

  • To fix bugs, improve stability, and understand how features are used (aggregated analytics).

  • To respond to support requests and manage waitlists or email contact if you explicitly sign up.

4. Analytics and error reporting:

We process analytics and crash log data only on the basis of your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and ePrivacy Directive). These are switched off by default. You enable them by accepting via the cookie banner (website) or the in-app consent prompt (app). You can withdraw consent at any time through your browser cookie settings or by contacting privacy@remindmed.es — withdrawal does not affect any processing already carried out.

  • Subscription and purchase management: processing your plan type, billing status, and transaction data is necessary to perform the contract with you and deliver your Premium plan (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).

  • Fraud prevention: we may process limited transaction data to detect and prevent fraudulent purchases, based on our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

  • Legal and tax compliance: we may retain certain transaction records as required by applicable law, including Spanish commercial and tax regulations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).

5. How long we keep data

While your account is active.

  • If your account has no activity for 12 months, we may delete it and its data.

  • If you request deletion, we will delete your account and personal data; it cannot be recovered afterwards.

  • Some technical logs and backups may persist for a short period for security and integrity, then are deleted or anonymized.

In any case, personal data will not be retained for longer than 7 years from your last interaction with RemindMed, unless a longer period is required by applicable law including Spanish commercial record-keeping obligations (Código de Comercio Art. 30) and tax regulations.

5.5. Minimum age

RemindMed is not intended for use by children below the minimum age applicable in their jurisdiction:

  • United States: you must be at least 13 years old (COPPA).

  • EU and Spain: you must be at least 14 years old (LOPDGDD Art. 7).

  • Brazil: you must be at least 18 years old, or have verified parental consent (LGPD Art. 14).

  • Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and other LatAm countries: you must be at least 18 years old, or have verified parental consent.

By using RemindMed or submitting your email on this website, you confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement in your jurisdiction. RemindMed does not support parental consent flows. If we become aware that a user below the applicable minimum age has submitted data, we will delete it promptly.

6. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or a similar jurisdiction, you have:

  • Right of access – get a copy of your data.

  • Right to rectification – correct inaccurate data.

  • Right to erasure – delete your account and data.

  • Right to restriction and objection – in certain cases, limit or object to processing.

  • Right to data portability – receive your data in a portable format.

You can use in‑app controls where available or contact us at support@remindmed.es. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share health data with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing.

We use trusted service providers (“processors”) to run the Service, for example:

  • Hosting / database (Firebase or similar).

  • Push notifications and crash/analytics tools.

  • Website analytics and basic cookies.

They only process data on our instructions and under data‑processing agreements.

8. International transfers

If data is processed outside the EU/EEA, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it, in line with GDPR.

  1. HIPAA clarification

RemindMed and GB Group are not HIPAA‑covered entities or business associates. Information you enter into RemindMed is generally not protected by HIPAA, but we protect it under GDPR and other applicable privacy laws.

  1. Cookies (website)

We use necessary cookies for the website to work and basic analytics cookies to understand traffic and improve the site. Where required, we will show a cookie banner so you can accept or reject non‑essential cookies.

  1. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make important changes, we will notify you in the app and/or on the website. Continued use of RemindMed after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
